MEAG money market fund makes 2.49% in six months

The MEAG ProZins A is leading the way in the BVI return statistics for money market funds with an investment focus on the Euro. With a performance of 2.49% up to 30 June 2007 it is well ahead of its nearest rivals for the first half of the year.
The excellent performance of the MEAG ProZins A is attributable to an improved investment strategy. It has increased the share of fund assets held in ABS and MBS to 26.7% as at 30 June 2007. Fund manager Andreas Moritz: "These papers offer higher returns than conventional bonds." In addition to careful credit analysis, the fund manager also boosts the returns attained by the MEAG ProZins A with foreign currency loan issues, while keeping a strict eye on the risks. Reiner Back, head of the Portfolio Management – Fixed Income Securities department: "The character of a money market fund with consistent value growth remains. This year there has not been one day on which the unit value was lower than the previous day. This bears witness to successful and yet low-risk strategies."
The fund manager utilises the expertise of the Corporate Bonds, Forex and ABS/MBS teams to optimise the returns of the MEAG ProZins A. Investors also profit from rising money market interest rates. The average residual maturity in the MEAG ProZins A was 1.9 on 30.06.2007, and the accruing interest 4.26 the same day. The management fee is 0.3% p.a.. There is no issue surcharge.
