Born in 1964, Holger Kerzel studied business mathematics before working for six years at Hypo Capital Management and then moving into Portfolio Management at Munich Re. Mr. Kerzel has been employed at MEAG since its equity management unit went operational on 1 January 2000, and he has been responsible for MEAG's equity fund management and all its investments in equities since 2003.

Mr. Kerzel was elevated as a Member of the Board of Management on 1 April 2012 and is now in charge of portfolio management for equities and all other equity investments made for Munich Re, ERGO and customers from outside the group.
