MEAG's core competence - Asset management for VAG investors:
Since our foundation in 1999, MEAG has bundled the asset management know-how of the Munich Re Group. The special expertise that this entails means we have a unique understanding of the needs of investors subject to the provisions of the German Insurance Supervision Act, so-called VAG investors.

Growing demands on VAG investors:
The biggest challenge for VAG investors lies in fulfilling future capital investment obligations. This is tougher in today's capital market environment than in the past. The difficulty is achieving the highest possible returns at a reasonable and calculable risk. Many things have to be considered across the entire investment process. This begins with finding the ideal allocation to the various different asset classes, includes portfolio management and risk management and goes on through to the back office for accounting and reporting.

Outsourcing parts of the value chain:
Extra IT infrastructure and personnel are often needed to master growing investment challenges. Many VAG investors – in particular small and medium-sized companies – are faced with the question of whether it wouldn't be more efficient and less expensive to outsource parts of their value chain.
