Low yields and reduced reserves combined with relentlessly demanding target yields mean that capital investment risks have to be managed expertly. On top of this, the supervisory authorities are constantly intensifying their demands on investors.

The responsibility for risk management is not assignable and must remain with the investor. Nonetheless, an asset manager can provide extensive support. This ranges from the real-time monitoring of externally and internally prescribed investment limits to carrying out stress tests and setting up trigger systems/early warning systems. The latter can, for example, be used to control the coverage of liabilities or the attainability of the targeted return. The asset manager can monitor the probability of missing the targets and propose countermeasures.
