Our portfolio managers analyse companies, their business models, market valuations and future prospects as a basis for investing in their stocks and other related investment instruments. This unit is responsible for the management of all MEAG equity portfolios as well as derivatives trading and commodity investments. It invests in all major European stock markets, the USA and other selected markets. Our equities experts also implement quantitative strategies developed by MEAG that have already been highly successful on the market for many years. Equities are and will remain a very attractive asset class even for conservative investors. 

Our portfolio managers manage all of MEAG's interest-bearing investments and forex positions. They advise our clients and allocate funds to the market sectors, currencies and individual securities within the portfolios. They do so in specialist teams on the basis of high-income strategies for positionings in interest, credit standings, financial instruments and currencies. Additional earnings are generated by actively exploiting market opportunities. In the Buy-and-Hold portfolios of our personal insurance mandates, the focus is on selecting safe investments that are sustainable for the balance sheet over the long-term, with which the Group's insurance obligations can be entirely covered. Decisive here, in addition to the yield, is also minimising default risks and limiting the obligations per issuer entered into.

The infrastructure debt asset class offers an illiquidity premium that is attractive compared to traditional credit investments of similar duration. As a rule, the projects being financed are of strategic importance for the economy and people of a country: e.g. energy supply, hospitals or motorways. Hence there is a lasting connection of the economy and population to the financed project, which often has USPs (power grid, public transport, etc.) with little competition

Infrastructure equity investments are an attractive proposition.
