Which data and sources do we use?
When you apply for a job at MEAG, we process in particular your master data (such as first name, last name, titles, nationality), contact data (such as your address, (mobile) phone number, e-mail address) and the data from the entire application procedure (in particular cover letter, CV, references, questionnaires, interviews, qualifications and previous positions). We only use special categories of personal data that you send us with your job application (e.g. health data, religion, degree of handicap) if this is required in the context of the application procedure (e.g. in the case of special needs, etc.).
As a rule, these data are gathered from you directly during the hiring process. We may also receive data from third parties (e.g. recruitment agencies) that you have given your data to for forwarding.
For what purpose and on what basis do we process your data?
The processing of your data primarily serves the purpose of conducting the application procedure and assessing the extent to which you are suitable for the position in question. The processing of applicants' data is necessary to be able to decide whether to start an employment relationship with them. The main legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.
We also process your data in order to be able to meet our legal obligations as your potential employer, e.g. because of supervisory law requirements pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR.
We are also obliged to compare your with sanction lists due to legal regulations on combatting terrorism (e.g. EU Directive 2580/2001).
We only process certain categories of personal data as provided for by Art. 9 GDPR if you give us your explicit consent or if the processing serves the exercising of rights and obligations arising from labour law, social security or social protection laws.
Who receives your data?
Within our company, only the people who need your data to meet the above purposes are given access to the data. To do so, we sometimes call upon external service providers – in particular the operator of our job application platform rexx systems GmbH.
You will find the categories of service provider/recipient that process your data for us or to which we send your data, here.
How long do we store your data?
If no employment relationship results, the data you have sent to us that are not subject to another statutory period of retention will be deleted six (6) months after your being notified of not gaining the position. If we cannot offer you a position at the time but are of the opinion that your application may be interesting for future openings, we will keep your application data if you give us your explicit consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. When giving such a consent, you can revoke it again at any time for the future.
Your user account will be deleted if you fail to log into our applicant tool for a period of twelve (12) months and do not react to a reminder e-mail within a further four (4) weeks.
Otherwise, we only delete your user account when you cancel it.
When deleting the user account, all personal data in the registration information and your profile data will be deleted or blocked for five (5) months after your last application procedure, and then deleted. You can then no longer log in.
Does MEAG have automatic decision-making?
We do not have automatic decision-making/profiling at this time.
